If you are planning to be guided by a GPS, please note that our actual street address should NOT be entered - there happen to be two "McCormack's Lanes" in our Shire and you most certainly end up at the wrong address.
Please enter "580 Buckland Valley Road, Porepunkah, Victoria 3740". This should direct you to a point on Buckland Valley Road from which you will be able to see the turn off (to the left) to McCormack's Lane.

Travel directions from Melbourne:

Hume Freeway, exit Milawa (next exit after large BP service station and McDonalds on either side of the freeway at Glenrowan), follow signs to Milawa (the Cheese Factory at Milawa has a shop/restaurant/café, art gallery & cellar door of a local winery attached, it's always a great stop for lunch or just to pick up some nice cheese and great bread, there are also Milawa Mustard, Brown Brothers Winery and a couple of cafes at Milawa). From Milawa follow signs to Myrtleford, from there to Bright. Approx. 6km BEFORE Bright you come to a small township by the name of Porepunkah. At the roundabout (there is only one you can't miss it), take the second exit into the Buckland Valley. Exactly 6 km from the roundabout (after Devils Creek Vineyard), turn left into McCormack's Lane (if you cross a creek and pass by Villa Gusto, you've gone too far).
We are at the end of McCormack's Lane on the right hand side. As a guideline: once you left the Fwy, it will take you approx. 1 hour (80 km) to get to The Buckland.

Travel directions from Sydney:

Above are the most direct traveling routes.

Alternative Traveling Routes:

From Sydney you could alternatively consider traveling down the coast, then via Canberra, through the Snowy Mountains, Corryong, Tallangatta and via Myrtleford to the Buckland Valley.

From Melbourne consider following the Princess Highway via Foster (with maybe a stop at Wilson's Promotary National Park?), Sale and Bairnsdale and then via The Great Alpine Road to Omeo, Dinner Plain, Mt. Hotham and eventually via Bright to Porepunkah and the Buckland Valley

A very scenic route leads you from Melbourne via the Yarra Valley, Alexandra, Mansfield and the beautiful King Valley (with it's Italian Flair and Italian style wineries) to Myrtleford and from there via the Great Alpine Road to Porepunkah and the Buckland Valley.

If you have a few more days to travel:
From Melbourne follow the Princess via Traralgon, Sale and Bairnsdaile and then via The Greaat Alpine Road to Omeo, Dinner Plain, Mt. Hotham and eventually via Bright to Porepunkah and the Buckland Valley.

If you have even more time, consider traveling via the South Gippsland Highway from Melbourne via Leongatha and Foster to visit the southernmost point of the Australian mainland, the famous Wilsons Prom National Park. From there continue to Sale and the via The Great Alpine Road as above. Please note that accommodation in the vicinity of Foster / Wilsons Prom is limited and bookings should be made in advance.
