What a treat! If only more of the world was as peaceful as this beautiful valley. A glorious sunset over the mountains, drifts of mist, a moonlit night, brilliant birdsong and even some gentle rain!

The studio is superb, stylish and so comfortable.

Eddie’s breakfasts will long be remembered.

We’ve had such a happy time here.

Thank you both so much.

When we stayed here (apartment 3) in October 2006, we loved it so much we vowed to return and we did!! And will again! And again! It’s heaven – the apartment, the valley and great hosts. The book “Good Weekends Away – 100 Best Destinations for the Passionate Traveller” by Kerrie O’Brien gives this place 19 out of 20 points. We want to know why it’s not 20 out of 20!!

5th of June 2007 by email:

Dear Sabine and Eddy,

I forgot to write in your guest book this time. I had intended to but was distracted, so, I’m letting you know by email that once again we had a fabulous time. The weather was perfect for us. We were hoping it would be cold and just the type of weather where you want to do a little exploring but come back to the studio in the afternoon and just take it easy, light the fire, put on music or watch a DVD, eat the wonderful produce and products that can be purchased from the region. So this was heaven for us.
The added bonus of your café was just a treat. It is also beautifully done. Some mornings I was just so content to just sit there and read the paper…..Eddy cooks a fantastic herb omelet with those wonderful yellow eggs. The compote of fruit and the fat free yoghurt is very special. Also having a cappuccino made for you is always better than making one yourself! We hope Eddy is enjoying his cheese making course!
We will have to come back again, naturally, but especially because we did not spot this famous wombat. I guess because we were indoors when it was dark while he/she was outdoors. I did however hear some noise one night and thought it just may be the wombat. Too comfortable to go out and investigate.
At the moment I return to thoughts of The Buckland by closing my eyes and think back of those wonderful imagines looking out of any of the windows in the studio. Also as we drove around the district and saw all the autumn/winter colours of the trees. Even the wet leaves on the ground looked beautiful.
Be assured that anyone that stays with you must come back feeling refreshed and wanting to return there in the near future.
Regards,
Fay (and Sam)

Do we have to go home to Melbourne??
Everything has been perfect – glorious April weather, no work to do, lots of relaxing (although perhaps we got a bit too and over –caffeinated with the coffee machine.)
Can’t wait to come back and light the fire in winter! (and to see the much famed wombat – we looked, but didn’t see him….her?)
Thank you!

We can’t wait to come back after our bike riding. This was bliss! It’s wonderful for the soul to spend time somewhere like this & we had great fund following the wombat around the paddock in the full moon last night!

I think we picked the perfect place for our mini honeymoon!! We have so much enjoyed our visit and are sad to be leaving after only 3 nights. You have created a wonderful experience for guests and we will definitely be back!!
Thank-you Eddie for the best scrambled eggs I have ever had.

I’m really sorry for running over the wombat. I thought he get out of the way. I guess they don’t have much road sense. But on a brighter note, the goat we gorm up the hill was fantastic on the BBQ maybe because it was so fresh. Can I suggest you supply the guests with a meat cleaver because……well it would just make things easier. Oh and the grass fire around the studio is no biggy – it should grow back in now time.
So yeah – we had a ball. And don’t worry – we’re definitely coming back!!!

Dear Sabine & Eddy,
after travelling the world as we do, your retreat could not be bettered in any place we have previously stayed.
We wish you the success you both deserve with this venture!
